Book Review: The Wyrm by Stephen Laws

I just finished this book and let me tell you, it was great! Leisure Books has really been rolling out some top quality work for a while now and this one is no exception. The book starts off slowly, but that's not a bad thing here. It gives you a little time to get to know the characters and the setting. The story drags you in and before you know it, you really care about these characters and what happens to them. Then as your getting cozy, BANG-the story takes off like rollercoaster and doesn't let up until the final page. I mean it, The Final Page! The best thing a writer can do is make you believe in the story and while the story is fiction of course, the characters in this book react how a real person would react to the happenings in the book. There are no unafraid heroes spouting out lame one liners in this book. I know I'm rambling about the characters but I just haven't read a book with believable characters in a very long time and this was like a breath of fresh air. The Wyrm pulls no punches when it comes to the terror and gore. Die hard gorehounds will love this book as the crimson practically pours off the page. I just can't say enough about this book. I wholeheartedly give it *****, and that's my highest rating! Thank you Leisure Books and thank you Stephen Laws.
