Movie of the Week: Wrong Turn

Texas Chainsaw Massacre started a genre unto itself back in the 70's. I like to call it the "70's Hillbilly Slasher", and recently it's been revived by some decent movies. The TCM Remake, House of 1000 Corpses and here with Wrong Turn. Not to mention Devil's Rejects later this year. This film came out with little or no fanfare and word quickly spread that it was good. There is a good amount of gore and some of the kills are very inventive. The acting is capable with Eliza Dushku(T.V.'s Buffy) leading the ensemble. If when thinking about the West Virginia hills makes you think about cannibilistic inbred hillbillies (don't act like you don't relate the two), then this movie is for you. Lots of action, lots of killing, lots of running and lots of fun. If you haven't seen it, see it. Wrong Turn turns right with **** out of *****.
