Book of the Week: Brimstone by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child

Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast returns in this white knuckle thriller from one of fiction's great writing tandems. The novel features tons of international intrigue, great escapes, historical facts and the devil in the background throughout. I'm a big fan of everything Preston and Child. They have the ability to deliver a great read every time, and the Pendergast series is the best of the lot. Brimstone also marks the return of Vincent D'Agosta, the grumbly and somewhat dishelveled detective frim The Relic and The Reliquary. It was good to see the two working as a team again. Many other odd characters return for cameos as well here. Their website says they are at work on another Pendergast book and I know I can't wait. I loved this book, but if you want to read Pendergast from the beginning, start with Relic, Reliquary, Cabinet of Curiosities, Still Life with Crows and then Brimstone. As good a series as there is. I give it ***** out of *****.
